About My Guardian

My Guardian is an Aged Care and NDIS service provider that is dedicated to deliver the most compassionate and loving home care.

The Accountant is a key role within the Finance Team responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information supporting budgeting and forecasting processes and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. The Financial Accountant must be detail-oriented self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organisation and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Full Time Permanent
Salary range: $70000 - $80000

Duties: The following list outlines the key responsibilities of the Accountant which may be carried out independently or as part of broader team functions.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and process month-end and year-end journal entries.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports including profit & loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes with data analysis and financial insight.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including GST BAS and payroll tax.

  • Liaise with external auditors and contribute to the annual audit process.

  • Ensure adherence to Aged Care and NDIS financial regulations and reporting standards.

  • Monitor internal financial controls and recommend improvements as needed.

  • Support payroll processing accounts payable and receivable functions where required.

  • Analyse variances between actuals and budget/forecast and provide commentary.

  • Assist in maintaining and improving financial systems and reporting tools.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance-related processes and procedures.

  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Adhere to all company Policies and Procedures as well as Work Health and Safety Requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.

  • CPA or CA qualification preferred.

  • 35 years experience in financial accounting or a similar role (Preferably in the Health Care industry)

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.

  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g. MYOB Xero or ERP systems).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
