2-3 Month Contract with a local Authority

Job Purpose

• To carry out detailed site and professional electrical inspections & condition surveys.
  
• To monitor quality of works by contractors external specialist consultants and other agencies to facilitate high levels of service delivery with the preparation of weekly service provider and site reports.
  
• To carry out design surveys with the service provider and signs off the quality and content of work in each property and section of work.
  

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• To ensure appropriate monitoring systems are in place and to prepare reports for Senior Management and Area Forums as required.
  
• Evaluate effectiveness of contracts service providers products and used and to make recommendations on changes or developments as required. Monitoring and reporting on various areas such as quality customer care application maintenance requirements etc.
  
• Responsible for detailed site inspections. Completes detailed survey forms that direct the contractor regarding the level and location of works to be carried out.
  
• Working closely with the contractor to ensure that the correct and appropriate works and specifications are specified and delivered. Taking corrective action when they are not.
  
• Responsible for the clerk of works function. Monitors the progress of the works.
  
• Signs-off the content and quality of each property and/or section of work. This will affect the level and timing of payment to contractors.
  
• Deals with minor issues and reports any major issues and failures to the electrical contact manager.
  
• Issues site instructions for approval by the Electrical contract manager.
  
• Manages snagging. Advises the contractor to take remedial action. Does not sign-off works until satisfied that they meet the specification and other contract requirements.
  
• Weekly reports on sites/contractors and appropriate action.
  

Essential Experience Required.

• Experience of working in a construction related environment.
  
• Experience of working with AICO fire alarm systems and their RF commissioning requirements
  
• Experience of liaising / working with electrical contractors
  
• Extensive experience of working within a team.
  
  

Essential Qualifications Required

• Educated to a level in an electrical related discipline; and/or able to demonstrate the necessary relevant experience i.e. a JIB Graded Electrician / Time served Apprenticeship
  

Additional information to note

• This role is 36 working hours per week
  
• This Role requires an Enhanced DBS.
