About the Opportunity:
One of our clients in the medical device industry is currently seeking a Scientist II to support their Biocompatibility Chemistry team specializing in Extractables & Leachables (E&L) testing. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on chemist to work in a fast-paced high-throughput laboratory environment alongside experienced scientists.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform device extractions and bench chemistry testing following established protocols and procedures.
Operate analytical instruments including FT-IR ICP IC and potentially GC/MS and LC/MS.
Document analyze and report data using an electronic laboratory notebook system (Lab Vantage).
Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked lab environment.
Support method development validation and investigational analysis as needed.
Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding lab activities and results.
Working Conditions:
Laboratory environment with appropriate PPE.
Routine handling of lab chemicals and medical devices.
Work involves sitting standing and light lifting.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
1 5 years of laboratory or wet chemistry experience.
Experience operating analytical instrumentation through education or practical experience.
Strong attention to detail with solid problem-solving and organizational skills.
Familiarity with GMP/GLP documentation standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on lab experience with FT-IR HPLC GC ICP or Ion Chromatography.
Experience with Extractables & Leachables (E&L) testing.
Knowledge of ISO 10993 guidelines and GMP/GLP lab environments.
Experience supporting analytical method validation.
Essential Skills Strong diagnostic acumen across imaging modalities. Exceptional written, verbal, and consultative communication. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical setting. Proficiency in PACS, RIS, and EHR systems.
