BHS Robotics is on the lookout for a Senior Controls Engineer to be part of our innovative and growing team in Hanover Park IL. If you thrive on solving complex challenges programming cutting-edge automation systems and collaborating with skilled engineers this is your chance to make a real impact.
What Youll Do
Take a hands-on role in designing programming and commissioning custom robotic and automated systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept through installation.
Develop electrical designs and BOMs that meet project specs and timelines.
Program and configure control systems (PLCs HMIs robots vision systems VFDs servo drives and networks).
Provide support to panel build and equipment assembly teams.
Travel to customer sites for system startup troubleshooting and training (approx. 20%).
Ensure adherence to safety standards throughout the entire process.
What You Bring
Bachelors in Electrical or Controls Engineeringor equivalent technical experience in industrial automation.
5 years of experience in electrical/control system design and commissioning.
Strong proficiency with Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000 FactoryTalk RSLogix) and similar platforms.
Experience with AutoCAD LT or Eplan for electrical design.
Familiarity with robotic platforms like Fanuc Yaskawa/Motoman ABB.
Exposure to vision systems like Cognex Keyence is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hands-on shop-floor environment.
Comfortable with up to 20% travel and physical tasks (lifting crouching standing etc.).
