Description

Job Duties:

Tutoring a wide range of students in aural skills an average of 4-5 hours per week during Block 3 (Jan. 20 March 13 2026) of the 2025-6 academic year. Occasionally tutor music theory as needed.

Hours Per Week:

4-5

Anticipated Work Schedule:

Other - Set hours in a static schedule; typically scheduled between 3-8pm plus additional tutoring appointments by fall and spring semesters including final exam periods.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by GPA
  • Outstanding achievement in aural skills and music theory courses with grades of A or A- in each course taken
  • Current enrollment in or past completion of Aural Skills IVand Music Theory III
  • Formal or informal experience teaching/tutoring aural skills and music theory required
  • Rising Junior preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Personal qualities conducive to one-on-one conferences such as a friendly approachable manner; patience; good listening abilities; and a sense of maturity and responsibility
