T-DAT Germany is required to further develop and operate the dedicated NFVI solution that hosts our Packet Core. This position supports our goal of providing an optimal customer experience and ensuring the high availability security and performance of our network functions. You will be responsible for all operational activities and tasks such as integrating managing deploying monitoring and troubleshooting the Ericsson NFVI solution as a dedicated infrastructure platform for Ericssons Packet Core VNF which serves more than 30 million customers.
Tasks
Responsible for the entire lifecycle operations of Ericssons NVFI solution hosting virtual ePCs
Optimize the manufacturers product for efficient operation i.e. define improvements have them developed and test them.
Operate the solution i.e. monitor resolve errors implement patches and coordinate the implementation of defined tasks within the affected technical teams and the supplier.
Incident Management i.e. identify the issue implement measures to mitigate customer impact recover system stability responsible to solve the issue. This also requires willingness for call-on-duty services.
Change Management i.e. plan and prepare test request approval and implement changes to the system. This requires willingness to work in maintenance windows during nightshifts depending on the severity of the change.
Apply and improve testing monitoring and troubleshooting procedures to maintain high performance reliability and compliance of integrated network functions. Deliver and maintain documentation for best-practices method of procedures (MoP) etc. for system operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize end-to-end connectivity address network challenges and continuously improve integration processes for VNF deployments.
Develop strategies to leverage from automated monitoring and change methods incl. VNF deployments with VNF-M.
Collaborate closely with other involved operations teams to streamline processes enhance software and system performance and apply innovative technologies and concepts.
Responsible for Hardware repair&return process coordinate HW exchange changes with local technical staff and plan execute required VM migrations.
Skill requirements:
Qualifications :
Must have skills
Several years of experience in Ericsson NFVI operations with strong focus on Ubuntu LX Suse LX compute hardware datacenter networks (router switches) and SDN concepts and with experience in onboarding VNF
Knowledge and experience in the area of Network Function Virtualization (compute memory network) and management tools (SDN Openstack VNFM)
Strong knowledge in operating and monitoring compute hardware and Linux LCM (Ubuntu and Suse)
Skilled in implementing monitoring logging and alerting solutions (e.g. Prometheus Grafana) to ensure network health and optimize the performance and reliability of packet core applications and infrastructure. User level Grafana and Kibana.
Signalling analysis: User level Anritsu Netscout Wireshark
Knowledge in troubleshooting of IPv4/IPv6 networks and protocols such as TCP UDP BGP BFD and tracing tools (e.g. wireshark)
Experience with troubleshooting in L2 switching networks ideally with Arista and Juniper Junos knowledge
Workflow Management and Trouble Ticketing Tool: User level HP Service Manager (HPSM internal Name Common Assurance Service Manager (CASM))
Familiar with ETSI-MANO architecture VNF-M procedures Openstack and Kubernetes
Good understanding in the 4G enhanced Packet Core and 5G non-standalone Core technologies (4G ePC and 5G NSA) their components interfaces and protocols
Experience in documenting multifaceted technical requirements for colleagues
Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
Additional Information
No shift work but occasional night work 1-2 times per week (between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM to carry out repairs and changes) to be covered by the team.
Additionally participation in on-call duty and call-in procedures is essential (approximately 5-7 weeks per person per year).
