Job Description
We are looking for a talented and motivated Economist to join our Edmonton team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact infrastructure and planning projects across Canada working alongside engineers planners and policy experts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in economic analysis and a passion for applying economic principles to real-world challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct economic impact assessments cost-benefit analyses multiple account evaluations and business case studies for infrastructure transportation and planning projects.
- Perform economic modelling and forecasting to support project evaluation and policy development.
- Research local and regional economic trends including labor markets education and skills development social inclusion and business investment.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to support urban and rural regeneration and economic development.
- Draft and prepare high-quality reports and presentations based on analysis and project outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across projects contributing strong technical insights and creative problem-solving.
- Support project delivery by providing technical input and assisting with project coordination; may mentor junior team members.
- Ensure work is delivered to the highest standards of quality innovation and client satisfaction.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Economics or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in applied economic analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Economics or a related discipline
- Experience working in consulting public infrastructure or government planning is considered an asset
