How do you excel in this position
The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for retail counter support and technical engagement with contractors and end-users supporting HVAC and Industrial Boiler applications. This hybrid role combines inside and outside sales requiring a blend of customer service technical expertise and sales acumen to support customers with parts identification product selection and the quote to order transaction process. The Account Manager will drive revenue growth by building strong relationships providing technical guidance and identifying new business opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Customer Sales & Support
- Assist customers at the retail counter and via phone with parts selection order processing and technical inquiries.
- Identify and recommend replacement HVAC and boiler parts based on system requirements or inspections.
- Process sales transactions quotes warranties and returns accurately and efficiently.
- Promote additional products upgrades and current promotions to maximize sales opportunities.
Technical Engagement & Application Support
- Provide technical guidance on HVAC and boiler components including system troubleshooting.
- Support contractors and end-users in product selection and system applications for commercial & industrial markets.
- Utilize manufacturer software to select components & integrate systems to achieve accurate proposals and quotes.
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with installation contractors service providers and facility managers.
- Conduct on-site visits to assist customers with product selection and solutions as valued.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the customer base and increase sales revenue.
Product Knowledge & Market Awareness
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of HVAC and boiler product lines staying up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
- Stay informed on competitor offerings market demand and customer needs.
- Provide feedback to management regarding inventory demand customer requests and product recommendations.
- Participate in training programs for both customers and internal teams to enhance product knowledge.
What are we looking for
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical or business-related degree preferred.
- 3 years of HVAC sales counter sales or related industry experience preferred.
- Technical understanding of HVAC boiler and/or refrigeration systems.
- Experience working with contractors service technicians and facility managers.
- Excellent customer service communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated results-driven and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with HVAC manufacturers software tools and sales processes is a plus.
