Job Description

THE POSITION

If you have an interest in helping children youth and families then we may have the position for you! Elk County Children & Youth Services is actively seeking a Caseworker to round out their staff.

Being a Caseworker can be challenging but a very rewarding position.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Children and Youth Caseworkers provide a range of services to youth and families in Elk County. This Caseworker position investigates abuse and neglect within Elk County.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
    • On call component to the position that happens once every 7-8 weeks for one week which is compensated at a rate of $250/week.
    • This position will receive full benefits pension and twelve paid holidays.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
  • A bachelors degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
