Description
Georgia Military College a two-year college located in Milledgeville Ga. is seeking a part-time assistant coach for its mens soccer program. This position is a 12-month position and reports to the mens soccer head coach. GMC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) which is also known as Region 17 in the NJCAA.
Major Responsibilities:
* Instructs student athletes in the fundamental skills strategy and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
* Assists in the recruitment of future student athletes.
* Assists in the necessary preparation to hold practices and games.
* Knowledge of field maintenance for games and practices.
* Attends staff meetings for the purpose of planning and evaluating the program.
* Promotes and encourages fair play good sportsmanship and ethical standards of conduct both on and off the field.
* Assists with maintaining a yearly inventory of all new and used equipment
* Performs any other duties as assigned by the Head Coach of the sport.
Necessary Skills:
1. Knowledgeable of current rules techniques and procedures required for the activity.
2. Must be organized and punctual.
3. Conducts oneself in a manner that exemplifies self-control and the promotion of good

*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Coaching experience in soccer at high school or college level
- Experience in college recruiting
