Position Purpose:A Sr. Logistics Engineer leads large cross-functional projects in Global Logistics that are typically related to process improvement strategic initiatives and/or space and capacity planning and span across multiple functions including Transportation Delivery Distribution International Logistics Inventory Planning and Merchandising. A Sr. Logistics Engineer may execute strategic initiatives perform operational analysis process improvement facility and capacity planning and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- 25% Leads cross-functional strategic or process improvement projects
- Mentors and Guides Logistics Engineers
- Provides recommendations to Sr. Management
- 25%Conducts time studies performs zero base analysis rate analysis network analysis statistical analysis flow path analysis and supply chain analysis.
- Develops metrics for business units within Global Logistics.
- Identifies Logistics process improvement opportunities through competitive analysis and critical thinking. Supports and/or leads cross-functional strategic or process improvement projects.
- 10% Develops reports and runs ad hoc queries.
- Identifies and develops business rules and standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes.
- Develops and maintains cost estimates forecasts and cost models.
- 10% Provides facility and capacity planning analysis for distribution and transportation functions in Logistics.
- 10% Reviews and recommends system/software enhancements.
- 10% Develops metrics and key performance indicators for assigned business unit.
- 10% Develops business tools and solutions based on knowledge product or technology.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:- Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
Travel Requirements:- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:- Industrial Engineering Degree or other related Engineering Degree
- Masters Degree
- Experience with Six Sigma or other Process Improvement Methodology
- Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite including Access Excel Powerpoint Project Word and Visio.
- Advanced Skills in: Mini-tab Access SQLVisual Basic Visio Project Specialized Software dependent upon position
