The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is the research division of the company. ATGs mission is to look ahead deliver insights and innovate technological solutions that will fuel Dolbys continued growth. Our researchers have a broad range of expertise related to computer science and electrical engineering such as AI/ML algorithms digital signal processing audio engineering image processing computer vision data science & analytics distributed systems cloud edge & mobile computing computer networking and IoT.
Dolbys Research Division is seeking a Volumetric Imaging Researcher to help shape the future of spatial scene understanding and representation technologies. Joining the Multimodal Experience Lab within Dolbys Advanced Technology Group you will collaborate with world-class researchers to advance volumetric scene representation novel view synthesis scene analysis and rendering technologies.
In this role youll take the lead in exploring and extending the state of the artparticularly in the composition and decomposition of volumetric scenes as well as the modeling of lighting shadows and occlusion. Your work will span fundamental research technology transfer to product teams and intellectual property development.
Conduct cutting-edge research in computer graphics scene representation and view synthesis.
Define and drive research roadmaps in collaboration with a top-tier research team.
Apply AI and deep learning techniques to develop novel solutions and enhance existing approaches.
Design and validate algorithms using robust methodologies quality metrics and test content.
Share insights through publications technical papers and internal presentations.
Transfer research outcomes to product groups and contribute to patent applications.
Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring the latest advances in computer graphics and computer vision.
Ph.D. in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Applied Math Physics or related field.
Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals.
Deep expertise in view synthesis and/or light-field research.
Familiarity with scene representations such as NeRF or Gaussian Splatting.
Proven experience in computer graphics / computer vision R&D.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python C/C or Matlab.
Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative team mindset with the ability to work across research and engineering.
Strong background in deep learningbased methods.
Experience with real-time graphics APIs (OpenGL CUDA DirectX Vulkan).
Knowledge of PyTorch3D.
Familiarity with game engines (Unreal Unity).
Experience with XR environments capture and devices.
The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $130000-$162000which can vary if outside this locationplus bonus benefits and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills competencies experience market demands internal parity and relevant education or training.
