As an Engineering Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our sites capital investments. You will lead cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver complex projects that enhance our facilities utilities and equipmentensuring every initiative aligns with our high standards of quality compliance and innovation. Your ability to collaborate across disciplines and drive execution will be key to supporting the capital projects portfolio and enabling operational excellence at Novartis.

Job Description

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the planning execution and delivery of capital projects ensuring alignment with site objectives and compliance standards
• Serve as the primary client contact managing expectations and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across stakeholders
• Partner with design and construction firms to develop biddable packages and oversee field execution of installations
• Manage external contractors and internal staff on projects ensuring alignment with project scope schedule and budget
• Prepare and present funding requests including project objectives benefits alternatives risks and financials
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules budgets and resource plans resolving conflicts as needed
• Ensure all project documentation including scopes of work and vendor proposals are reviewed and approved
• Monitor project performance report progress to site leadership and support site master planning initiatives
• Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive communication and contingency planning
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-project evaluations

Requirements for: Engineering Project Manager

• Bachelors degree in Chemical Electrical Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or 4 years of equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical GMP manufacturing engineering or project roles including direct experience with cell culture recovery purification or aseptic fill/finish operations

Requirements for: Sr. Engineering Project Manager

• Bachelors degree in Chemical Electrical Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or 4 years of equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical GMP manufacturing engineering or project roles including direct experience with cell culture recovery purification or aseptic fill/finish operations

Requirements for both levels:

• Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to manage capital projects including brownfield construction and facility renovations
• Skilled in reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and multidisciplinary construction drawings. Experience with process and production layouts automation and capital improvement initiatives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong technical writing ability
• Potential for 5-10% travel

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $103600 and $192400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health life and disability benefits a 401(k) with company contribution and match and a variety of other benefits. In addition employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation personal days holidays and other leaves.
