Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and skilled repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered engines including overhauls brakes suspension clutches and electrical systems.
- Operate a preventive maintenance program keeping accurate records of all work completed.
- Repair and maintain power tools and equipment such as compressors jackhammers and lawn equipment.
- Manage parts inventory and prepare detailed repair logs and maintenance records.
- Support snow removal sanding plowing and emergency road operations especially during the winter season.
- Ensure safety compliance maintain a daily log and update the DPW Maintenance Management System regularly.
Qualifications:
Required:

High school diploma or GED
-
Technical/vocational training in automotive or diesel mechanics
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in gas and diesel engine repair

Strong diagnostic skills and experience with mechanical tools
Preferred (Nice to Have):
-
CDL Class B with air brake endorsement
-
Hoisting license
