Job Description
Mount Alvernia Academy (MAA) a Franciscan Catholic Elementary school (Preschool through Grade Six) has a job opening for an Elementary Technology Teacher and Technology Manager. The Elementary Technology Teacher and Technology Manager is responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate technology instruction to students in grades K6 and managing the schools technology infrastructure devices and systems. This position supports both the instructional and operational goals of the school helping students build 21st-century skills while maintaining a reliable and secure tech Academy cultivates a desire within our students to share their God-given gifts with the world which has been entrusted to Responsibilities:Develop and deliver a technology curriculum for students in grades K6 that fosters digital literacy responsible internet use keyboarding and basic project-based learning and cross-curricular technology applications (e.g. in science math ELA).Support teachers in incorporating educational technology into their students responsible digital citizenship and online and report on student progress through report cards and parent Management Responsibilities:Oversee the maintenance and functioning of all school-owned devices (Chromebooks iPads desktops interactive whiteboards etc.).Provide first-level troubleshooting and coordinate with external IT vendors when device inventory updates and software and support the schools learning management systems Google Workspace for Education and educational data security and appropriate content filtering across all the setup of tech needs for school events testing and up-to-date technology policies and collaborate on tech planning and :Bachelors degree in education instructional technology computer science or a related field (Masters degree preferred).Teaching experience at the elementary level ideally with a focus on technology or working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education Chromebooks iPads and classroom tech with network systems cloud-based platforms and basic IT organizational communication and interpersonal skills.A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic attendance is a necessary function. Consistent reliable and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students. While performing the duties of this job the teacher is frequently required to kneel stoop bend and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit walk and may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 should hold a current teaching license as well as a degree from an accredited school in elementary education.
