Performs various cardiovascular/vascular procedures including but not limited to monitoring of diagnostic and interventional procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Assures proper radiation protection protocols.

Operates specialized equipment for use in diagnostic and vascular test; and therapeutic interventions performed in the Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab
Assures proper radiation protection protocols are followed by persons within the procedure room.
Scrubs at the tableside and monitors patients as assigned.
Responsible for patient transport as necessary.
Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots resolves and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Minimum EducationGraduate of a certificate or degree granting program or post-secondary educational program - Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required SkillsCertifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved American Heart Association training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment if not current upon hire.
Required SkillsLicenses:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a thorough working knowledge of practices and experiences in a Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab.
Minimum Work Experience
Three years Cath Lab/Special Procedures experience - Required
Must be able to perform all vascular/cardiac procedures involving the operation of imaging equipment including assisting the physician during the actual catheterization procedure.
