About the role


Key details:

  • Working week:Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm 35 hours per weekTerm time only
  • Wage:7.55 per hour
  • Location: Grasmere Road Greater Manchester Oldham OL4 1NG
  • Apprenticeship Standard:Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Duration:16 months


Overview of the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join Clarksfield Primary Schools team. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship. During your time as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will be based in a classroom environment and will help support the young learners within their lessons and also will be involved in planning lessons.


Key responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the line manager class teachers and other staff to support the learning of whole classes selected groups or individuals as instructed
  • Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies and help keep pupils on task
  • Interact with and support pupils according to individual needs and skills
  • Raise standards of achievement for all pupils
  • Encourage pupils to become more independent learners
  • Provide support for their emotional social and physical welfare
  • Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
  • Participating in the performance and development review process taking personal responsibility for identification of learning development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
  • To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher

During this teaching assistant apprenticeship you will promote self-belief social inclusion and high self-esteem which will play an integral part to pupils wellbeing. You will become an essential part in the learning environment for the classroom teacher and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive nurturing and safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum and expand their knowledge. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the childrens learning experiences helping them to succeed academically and personally.
