About the Role
Leicestershire Sendiass provides Leicestershire County Councils statutory information and advice service. Sendiass provides impartial free and confidential information and advice to parents carers and young people regarding SEND.
We are looking to recruit a Sendiass Officer to join our small team.
Working as a Sendiass officer involves providing legal advice on all matters relating to special educational needs. You will empower parents carers and young people to self advocate by understanding their rights.
You will have a good knowledge of special educational needs and of the Send Code of Practice.
You will have experience of providing both written and verbal information advice and support to a variety of people.
Your work will involve covering our very busy helpline answering duty emails and attending school meetings. You will also provide case work for families and support parents to attending mediation meetings and tribunal hearings. We also attend outreach events such as Leicestershires Local Offer Roadshows
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
