We have an exciting opportunity for a QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment) Technician to join our busy Quality Department.
The role involves identifying areas for improvement promoting a culture of safety and implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents and environmental impacts. The QHSE Technician will report to and deputise for the QHSE Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular in process product inspections: Examining products during production to ensure they meet specified build standards using tools and instruments to measure test and evaluate products for defects.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections test results and any non-conformances providing reports to management or production teams to track quality performance.
- Identifying Defects and Non-Conformities: Detect defects deviations or potential risks in products or processes and work with production teams to resolve issues with the use of root cause analysis tools.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend corrective actions to enhance overall quality and reduce defects.
- Conducting Audits: Plan and perform internal audits to assess compliance with the quality management system industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Conduct thorough assessments of work environments to identify potential health and safety hazards ensuring risks are mitigated through proper safety measures and controls.
- Investigate Accidents and Incidents: Investigate workplace accidents injuries or near-misses to determine root causes report findings and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Support Final Inspection: Offer additional support in Final inspection & Packing during periods of high demand.
- Foster a strong collaboration with the Production and Engineering teams by working together to address challenges. By building trust and ensuring alignment on goals we can enhance operational efficiency improve safety standards and drive continuous improvement in production processes.
- Ensure that all Environmental Health and Safety / Company Policies are adhered to at all times.
Education/ Qualifications:
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certification.
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management) ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) or ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in quality control health and safety or environmental management preferably in a relevant industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards risk assessment safety protocols and auditing practices.
- Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
