About the Opportunity

You will support the Head Chef in the efficient and effective management of operations in all areas of Allity Food Services including staff and resource allocation. Supervise staff in all Allity Food Services operational areas and provide oversite of the food production receipt and despatch.

The position is permanent part time with a minimum of 35 hours a week.

Reporting to the General Manager and Head Chef you will be mainly responsible for:

  • Supervising receival picking preparation cooking packing and dispatching of food in accordance with the approved standard recipes procedures and specifications and the production schedule to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure Food Services activities are completed with the designation budgeted timeframe and WHS specifications
  • Compliance with the Food Safety Management System (HACCP)
  • Coordinating portioning and packaging of meal components
  • Ensuring that suitable processes and systems are in place to minimise and manage production disruptions whilst ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Supervising and training staff involved in the handling preparation & cooking of food as well as other staff involved in any other related food production / handling tasks
  • Assisting with on the on-going developing maintaining and adherence of the Allity Food Services standardised recipe system

  • Ensuring standards of food safety is achieved and maintained at the highest level and all activities are compliant with HACCP guidelines procedures and regulations
  • Supervising cleaning of the work area plan and equipment to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Maintaining personal hygiene at a level that meets the food safety management system requirements
  • Conducting kitchen and store area stock inventory when required
  • Understanding and complying with WHS policies and procedures developed by Allity

About You

To be successful for this role you must demonstrate the following:

  • A current Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management (essential)
  • At least 1 year previous experience as a Chef in Aged Care is essential
  • Flexibility & commitment to work extra hours is required
  • Knowledge of good hygiene practices
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Professional presentation
  • Current COVID Vaccination (Mandatory)
  • Flu Vaccination (during flu season - Mandatory)
  • Police Check (mandatory)
  • NDIS Workers Check (desirable)
