Hours for this position are from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Siemens-Apogee Insight Siemens Desigo or alternative building automation systems is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a range of skilled HVAC tasks aimed at establishing and sustaining a safe and comfortable working environment for students staff parents and the general public within district facilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regularly inspect maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment as well as BAS controls encompassing but not limited to boilers DDC systems hydronic heating systems motors pumps and valves actuators chillers cooling towers motor controllers and exhaust fans.
- Promptly address service calls related to heating ventilation and air conditioning system issues. Conduct diagnostics and repair HVAC systems utilizing appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools. Respond to emergencies as required.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks including filter belt and hose maintenance. Undertake repairs and renovations of building facilities and associated equipment as delegated. Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with building or other maintenance staff.
- Order and purchase materials. Complete required reports and record keeping using computerized maintenance management software word processor and other computer-based software. Meet regularly with Maintenance Supervisor regarding maintenance priorities.
- Operate a range of equipment including but not limited to hand and power tools testing equipment and other trade tools necessary to successfully complete all tasks.
- Function in a general labor capacity as needed.
- Maintain acceptable job attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Skills Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and maintenance procedures.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills related to heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Ability to operate basic computer systems including word processing email time keeping computerized maintenance management systems to meet perform general tasks and meet daily administrative needs.
- Demonstrated ability to read write perform basic math.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints project manuals and technical manuals.
- Ability to recognize safety hazards and work safely.
- Strong public relations skills; skill and ability to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students staff parents and the general public while maintaining a high level of flexibility.
- Ability to work independently and establish daily priorities with a minimum amount of supervision as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other maintenance grounds and custodial team members.
- Ability to remain flexible in responding to changing needs.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train and share knowledge and experience in specific trades and tasks.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and to be flexible in meeting deadlines.
- Ability to perform physical tasks across diverse conditions such as working on ladders lifts rooftops and scaffolding regardless of weather conditions.
- Physical ability to perform manual work associated with maintenance duties including lifting 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds to lifting and move materials and equipment etc.
- Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces.
EDUCATION:
- High school graduation or its equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years experience in various commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units split systems variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems chilled water systems and hydronics demonstrating expertise in installation maintenance and troubleshooting across a diverse range of heating ventilation and air conditioning configurations. Alternatively possession of a NATE certification or an approved equivalent certification covering Air Conditioning (AC) Heat Pumps Gas Heating Commercial Refrigeration and Hydronics.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Siemens-Apogee Insight Siemens Desigo or alternative building automation systems.
- K-12 facilities maintenance experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of OSHA 30 Type I and Type II EPA 608 Certification or ability and willingness to obtain these certifications within 30 days of hire date.
- Valid Washington Drivers License with acceptable driving record.
