Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team and assist our dental hygienists in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist dental hygienists during dental procedures including cleanings fluoride treatments and periodontal assessments
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean organized and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
- Perform coronal polishing and apply topical fluoride
- Take and record medical and dental histories vital signs and other relevant information
- Perform dental charting and assist with documentation of treatment plans
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide instructions for proper care at home
- Perform related duties involved in the care and maintenance of dental instruments equipment and supplies
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Maintain and update dental records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve practice goals.
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology procedures and regulations through continuing education and training.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines.
- Take and process x-rays.
- Placement of sealants.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Current unencumbered State of Kansas or National Certified or Registered Dental Assistant Credentials preferred.
- CPR certification for Health Care Providers required.
- Current vaccination record meeting ACIP Healthcare Workers Recommendations
