There is an excellent opportunity to join SSL sterile services at an entry-level and receive world-class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.
Training and Working Pattern
- 12 weeks training. During the first 2 weeks you are expected to attend training at 9:00-17:00. Thereafter the training will continue during your regular shift hours which are full-time 37.5 hrs per week on Monday-Friday at 13:00-21:00.
What is involved
- Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables instruments and equipment) by the process of decontamination inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking instruments laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments in trays to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment used in the decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instruments.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trusts appointed person.
