Job Description

Established energy investment firm with portfolios including operated non-operated and mineral and royalty assets in oil and gas as well as investments in the energy transition sector is looking for an Engineering Tech to joint its Houston TX team.

Full-time long term open ended contract offering competitive compensation including benefits (paid health insurance) bonus potential and hybrid schedule!


The Engineering Technician will have a proven ability to collect analyze and interpret technical data from drilling production and reservoir operations to assist in decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. Adept in the use of specialized software field equipment and industry best practices to ensure safe cost-effective and environmentally responsible resource development. Strong background in preparing technical reports monitoring field activities and providing critical support throughout all phases of petroleum engineering projects.

Duties include:
  • Develop maintain and troubleshoot reserves databases for multiple projects
  • Coordinate all information from internal and external databases sources for review and use by the Reserves Team
  • Conduct daily research to maintain the reserves system up to date facilitating both reserves assessments and economic evaluations
  • Collaborate with Engineering Team and develop a foundational knowledge of the assets and operations to effectively address business needs
  • Primary administrator for decline analysis software in support of forecasts/economics
  • Facilitate implementation of smarter business module processes and data analytics for meaningful insights
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize data flow using macros scripts or other novel tools
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelors degree in engineering Mathematics Data Analytics Economics or Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience as a reservoir engineering technician or equivalent experience
  • Experience using database and engineering software including Aries ComboCurve Enverus (Drilling Info) Spotfire SQL Access or other engineering software
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) for project presentations
  • Microsoft Office Products (Excel Word PowerPoint etc.)
