Job Description
ICF has an opening for an on-call Dissemination Specialist working primarily on supporting the collection of demographic and health data through nationally representative population and facility-based surveys in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The Dissemination Specialist will work closely with host-country survey implementing agencies and other staff to develop national and organizational plans to disseminate survey data in-person and virtually and translate results into accessible and practical formats.
This on-call position can be fully remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement national dissemination work plans budgets and subcontracts in collaboration with survey Implementing Agencies and other development partners.
Provide in country and virtual technical assistance to survey implementing agencies and other groups for using results to improve programs and policies.
Prepare dissemination materials including survey key findings reports fact sheets PowerPoint presentations and policy briefs.
Serve as trainer/facilitator for a variety of capacity strengthening activities overseas including data use for decision-making social media data visualization and journalist workshops.
Support online dissemination activities as needed.
Qualifications
Masters degree in public health international development or related field.
8 years of experience in communication or data use with global health and/or population focus.
Strong understanding of demographic and/or health survey data and basic statistics and ability to communicate about these topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience training or facilitating workshops particularly overseas.
Substantive experience working and/or living overseas particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and/or south Asia.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including data visualization/graphics creation in PowerPoint/Excel and familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook Twitter Linked In Blog).
Proven experience in establishing working relationships and collaborating with international partners.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural situations.
Ability to work independently and manage projects daily with minimal supervision.
Fluency in English and proficiency in French Spanish or Portuguese.
Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
