Job Description

Physician Assistant-Surgery Permanent Role

  • Location: Plano TX 75093
  • Shift: Full-Time Days 08:00 AM 05:00 PM
  • Guaranteed: 40 Hours
  • Compensation: Based on experience.
Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Conduct comprehensive or focused physical exams and medical histories to assess physical and mental health.
  • Monitor patient progress throughout the care continuum and develop strategies to reduce hospital admissions or shorten hospital stays.
  • Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests to evaluate patient health.
  • Prescribe and manage drug therapies or perform indicated medical procedures in alignment with training and institutional policies.
  • Recommend behavior modification strategies and therapeutic interventions.
  • Create and implement comprehensive evidence-based outcomes-focused treatment plans in coordination with physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient responses.
  • Provide counseling to patients and families on medical conditions procedures medications nutrition and health maintenance.
  • Educate patients on potential drug interactions including OTC supplements and herbal remedies.
Key Success Factors:
  • Proficient in diagnosing and treating a variety of physical and mental health conditions.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competency in using healthcare software and EHR systems.
  • Ability to develop patient-centered care plans and interpret diagnostics effectively.
  • Capable of delivering patient education on complex medical topics.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Experience: Open to new graduates (less than 1 year of experience).

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current Texas PA license (required).
  • BLS certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • NCCPA Certification (required).
