Position Overview:
This position is responsible for reviewing and verifying documentation related to the Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) process to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards. This role works closely with Engineering Quality Sourcing and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for verifying supplier manufacturing processes consistently produce components that meet Customers engineering design and quality standards.
- Oversee and process first article and process approvals including the preparation review and submission of all required supporting documentation (including control plans FMEAs dimensional reports and material certifications).
- Work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineering team and suppliers to resolve documentation discrepancies.
- Work closely with Customer facilities to ensure manufacturing processes yield acceptable results and that all necessary process controls are properly implemented and maintained.
- Assess supplier corrective actions by identifying preliminary root causes and guiding the implementation of effective corrective measures as needed.
Requirements:
- BS in an Engineering discipline Mechanical or Industrial Engineering are preferred.
- 3 years of experience (or equivalent) in a Supplier Quality Engineering role.
- Familiarity with Quality tools and processes such as first article approval FMEAscontrol plans process capability and Gage R&R studies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including understanding of GD&T.
- Familiarity with Minitab software is a plus.
- Must have the ability to quickly learn and understand new concepts.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Customer product line a plus.
- Ability to travel as required.
