About Facility:

o Licensed for 457 beds

o Level 3 Trauma

o Stroke center of Excellence

o Bariatric center of Excellence

o Chest Pain Center

o Radius rule: Travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Department Information:

o Census Average patients/day 51

o Minimum Years of Experience required 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience

o Will you accept a first-time traveler Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o Chronic diseases CHF specialty area Mental Health Addiction Services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV abx COPD DM Wounds Geriatric care

Required License National Certification Certs (BLS ACLS etc.) or other position specific requirements such as Drivers License and/or Insurance:

o BLS ACLS NIHSS

Patient Ratios:

o RN: 1:4-5

Skills required:

o General Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) care of patients with tubes/drains IV start skills blood products wound care/dressing changes etc.

Support within the Department:

o Nurse Manager Administrative Clinical Supervisor Clinical Supervisor staff RNs CNA Clinical Mentor Rapid Response RN House Supervisor

Technology/Equipment:

o EMR: EPIC

o Department specific Equipment: scales GBS machine transfer device vein finder EKG crash cart language interpreter tele-medicine cart for online assessments of patients doppler

Floating:

o Within region and scope of practice

o Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below as needed within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable

Region 1 - Cabarrus University City Stanly Lake Norman Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

If floating mid-shift Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Orientation (facility and unit):

o NEO

o 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

o Weekend rotation: every other

o No call required

o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours

o Schedule cycle: 6-week schedules
