Unit Details: - 32-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Requires minimum 18 months of PCU RN experience
- Open to first-time travelers

Patient Population: - Care for patients not requiring mechanical ventilation
- Common diagnoses: CHF dysrhythmia chest pain stroke abdominal issues infections respiratory illnesses diabetes AKI/CKD ETOH withdrawal IV drug abuse etc.

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: - Most common: 1 RN to 4 patients
- May increase to 1:5 based on acuity

Required Credentials: - Active RN license
- BLS ACLS NIHSS certifications

Required Skills: - Tracheostomy care cardiac gtt cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Experience with chest tubes blood product administration wound care central line management

Department Support: - CNA for ADLs Charge nurse Phlebotomy support
- IV/VAT team Respiratory Therapy 24/7
- Access to Hospitalist and Intensivist 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring available

Technology Used: - EPIC EMR Alaris IV pumps Omnicell medication dispensing Phillips monitors

Floating Requirements: - Must float within the region and scope of practice
- Facilities include: Cleveland Kings Mtn Lincoln CMC Main Mercy LCH
- Paid for travel time if floating mid-shift

Orientation: - Facility orientation (NEO) plus 2 days on the department

Scheduling: - Every other weekend rotation
- No on-call requirement
- Required to work 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of pre-approved time off (excluding holidays)
- Scheduling cycle: 6 weeks
