Job Description
Location: Remote (USA-Based)
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Client: CA State Client
We are seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior Project Manager to lead complex IT and business transformation projects for a California state agency. This individual will bring deep expertise in Agile methodologies strong leadership skills and a proven ability to drive initiatives from strategy through execution in remote cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities:-
Lead end-to-end project delivery using Agile traditional or hybrid methodologies.

Serve as the primary point of contact between business units technical teams vendors and stakeholders.

Develop and manage project plans schedules budgets and resource allocations.

Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning daily stand-ups demos and retrospectives.

Use tools like Jira Confluence MS Project and similar platforms to track project status and manage backlogs.

Identify and mitigate project risks and issues; manage scope changes through formal change control.

Ensure transparency and alignment through regular updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Promote team collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Business Information Systems or related discipline.

Active PMP certification (Project Management Professional) from PMI Required.

10 years of project management experience including at least 3 years managing Agile projects.

Strong command of Scrum SAFe or other Agile frameworks.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Jira Confluence MS Project Trello).

Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience managing remote and distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Experience working with government agencies or public sector clients.

Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist (SA).

Familiarity with regulatory compliance procurement processes or IT governance.
