Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

Thefundamental reason this classification exists is to manage the operation andguest experience of ride attractions at the Montgomery Zoo including thetrain sky tram giraffe encounter and tortoise trek. The workresponsibilities include supervising two or more full-time employeesconducting safety inspections on ride attractions and equipment assisting themaintenance department with upkeep around the zoo and managing the dailyoperation of all rides. The Attractions Manager reports to the Maintenance andConstruction Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D. and twoyears of supervisory experience in a customer service setting includingworking with ride attractions or guest services in environments such as a zooamusement park or similar facility. Experience in general maintenance orskilled trades with knowledge of safety protocols and preventative maintenanceis a plus.

NOTE: Qualifyingeducation training and experience that provide the requisite knowledgeskills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Mustbe willing to work weekends holidays and flexible hours. Must be able to walkstoop and climb for extended periods of time including working in adverseweather conditions (cold heat and rain). Must be willing to work with adultsand children of various be able to perform job functions at heights up to 40 feet. Must possess and maintain a valid AlabamaDrivers license as needed to transport parts and other supplies. Must bephysically able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted as needed help small children ontothe sky tram.

Kind of Examination

The current vacancy is with the City ofMontgomery Zoo.Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire. If more than five qualified applications are received a selection test will used to rank applicants on the register. Tied scores will not be broken. If there are five or less qualified applicants they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
