This position is critical in supporting facility operations ensuring appropriate inmate placement and helping individuals navigate their time in custody in a productive and positive way.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification security or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
- Conduct Intake Interviews: Assess inmates upon arrival at the reception center to gather background behavioral and criminal history information.
- Evaluate and Recommend Placements: Recommend appropriate institutional job and school assignments that align with security needs medical/mental health requirements and rehabilitative goals.
THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED AS A PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT
or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE
OF LOUISIANA STATE GOVERNMENT (State Employee)
- DETAIL: The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment should a permanent position become available the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

- No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

SALARY DEPENDS ON LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE
- As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Corrections ARDC Specialist 1 Corrections ARDC Specialist 2 or Corrections ARDC Specialist 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
- The maximum salary for the Corrections ARDC Specialist 3 is $68806.
