The Key Account Manager is a high-profile sales role and you will act as a senior representative of the organization driving high impact and complex accounts. You will build and maintain relationships with key buyers understanding their goals and identifying opportunities and developing proposals to achieve those goals. You will develop and execute globally aligned account strategies to deliver sales growth profitability and meet financial and strategic goals.
You will work in a collaborative environment interacting with associates from product regional marketing and service & sales enablement to drive top and bottom-line sales growth. You will matrix manage a regional cross-functional support team to deliver an exceptional experience to key accounts and feedback best practice for scaling to the wider business.
This position will be based in the greater Chicago area reporting to the Sales Director and will be fully remote.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key influencers and decision makers to enhance corporate relationships maximize Abcams revenue growth and accelerate market share gain.
Develop and execute strategic multi-year account plans that both build effective alliances and maximize share of wallet across Abcams portfolio.
Co-ordinate internal resources to provide comprehensive solutions that both meet internal value drivers and delight customers.
Drive customer centric solutions that position Abcam and other Danaher companies as a critical partner.
Maintain market and competitor awareness be the voice of the customer; effectively communicate to internal stakeholders to improve product offering pricing and positioning.
The essential requirements for this job include:
Bachelors degree in life science or related discipline as well as five or more years field sales account management experience ideally in region.
Demonstrable ability to speak to antibody-based applications proteomics reagents and similar protein based solutions and products with top tier customers and translate into business opportunities.
Extensive sales/business experience with a proven track record of success at achieving above market growth in key accounts valued at $ 1M . Experience supporting NIH and other large research organizations is desired.
Solid understanding and knowledge of the biopharma and academia life science business and market.
Must be located in region and within distance to customers. #LI-remote
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel as required within region and a valid drivers license.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Life Sciences or Biotechnology related PhD MS or MBA is desirable.
Experience and knowledge of sales tools and various CRMs Sales Force etc.

The salary range for this role is $130000 to $ 160000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
