THE POSITION

District 4-0 is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Transportation Construction Inspector. In this vital position you will carry out various technical tasks including inspecting materials from asphalt concrete and aggregate plants to ensure compliance with specifications contract documents and approved Quality Control Plans. Additionally you will review and verify electronic material certifications. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will utilize your exceptional attention to detail as you review and verify electronic material certifications while collaborating with the Inspector to resolve any discrepancies that may occur. It is crucial to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Test Method (PTM) standards as well as those established by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM). Your duties will include monitoring shipments to verify that material quality meets specifications and that weigh slips accurately represent the quantities shipped. Furthermore you will observe testing procedures at Portland cement plants asphalt plants and aggregate quarries to maintain quality control throughout production. Accurate documentation of sampling and testing methods is essential along with promptly identifying and reporting any potential issues to your supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying design construction or inspection work; or
- Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience which includes reading and interpreting blueprints plans or schematics; or
- One year of construction inspection experience and an associates degree in civil engineering mechanical engineering geotechnical engineering surveying engineering technology or a closely related engineering technology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Drivers License or equivalent.
