Job Description
The Middle School ELA & Science Teacher would be responsible for all curriculum instruction for grades 6-8. The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students is imperative. The teacher also should be knowledgeable regarding technology integration in lessons.
Essential Functions
- Provide grade appropriate instructional program for students that adheres to the schools philosophy goals and objectives.
- Maintains an attractive organized and engaging learning environment.
- Develop lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of MD Standards.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students progress and development.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents students staff and administration.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students their families and other employees outside the school.
- Perform additional duties when needed for the supervision of students before during or after school.
- Participates in faculty meetings school committees and in-service learning opportunities.
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols.
- Works collaboratively with other teachers staff and administration.
- Attend school events including Back to School Nights Open Houses Parent/Teacher conference days and other events as requested by the administration.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and current MSDE certification or willing to obtain.
- Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching.
- Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy goals and objectives.
- Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as to enrich and differentiate instruction.
Range: $4500 - $50000 Annualized
