Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care Specialist
Join our award-winning Cardiovascular Institute as a PCU Registered Nurse specializing in cardiac care. This role offers the perfect blend of critical care nursing and specialized cardiac experience providing exceptional care to patients with complex cardiac conditions in our state-of-the-art 20-bed Progressive Care Unit.
Position Overview
As a Cardiac PCU RN youll be part of an elite team providing specialized care for cardiac patients ranging from acute myocardial infarctions to post-procedural care. This role offers the perfect opportunity to advance your critical care nursing career while working with cutting-edge cardiac care technologies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care for complex cardiac conditions
- Perform continuous patient monitoring and assessment
- Manage post-procedural care for cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and care coordination
- Implement evidence-based cardiac care protocols
- Participate in patient and family education
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification (or obtained within first year)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
