What Youll Do:
- Safely operate and work with industrial equipment using the proper PPE and safety procedures.
- Process chemical products using batch sheet instructions.
- Communicate and make material transfers.
- Load and unload material containers (tank cars/trucks drums and totes).
- Clean/prepare equipment for maintenance as required.
- Read various control panels and field instruments.
- Participate in plant emergency response organization with the requirement of successfully completing the 36 Hour Fire Course test and state test.
- Track/record process information and production data.
- Troubleshoot equipment processes etc.
- General housekeeping.
- Additional duties as assigned
Skills That Make a Difference:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
- Understanding of hazardous materials and safety procedures (MSDS JSAs etc.)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal/written).
- Ability to plan tasks work independently and display individual initiative.
- Willing/able to occasionally wear SCBA.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Basic math reading and computer skills.
- Ability to identify process improvements and act on them.
Considered a Plus:
- Knowledge of chemistry and chemical hazards.
- Working SAP knowledge.
- Previous forklift experience.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Previous experience on safety teams or in industrial safety training.
- Previous experience in manufacturing and/or chemical industry.
- Previous experience operating an industrial high pressure washer.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to move material using a forklift.
- Ability to move drums weighing up to 500 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts overtime and holidays as needed.
- Maintain clean shaven appearance to allow for respirator usage.
- Ability to climb stairs.
