You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Sponsored Research Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced Conflict of Interest (COI) management strategies conducting comprehensive risk assessments and integrating COI management systems with other institutional compliance systems. They also develop and maintain frameworks for analyzing complex legal agreements collaborate with legal and research teams to interpret federal reporting criteria and lead the preparation and submission of detailed compliance reports. Additionally they design and implement training and certification programs for JAX Investigators monitor the effectiveness of these programs and provide expert guidance on certification-related inquiries.
Furthermore the position establishes proactive regulatory monitoring systems leads initiatives to enhance compliance processes and develops key performance indicators to measure effectiveness. They oversee the preparation and submission of complex compliance reports maintain a centralized compliance reporting system and lead efforts to automate reporting processes. The role also includes leading special projects to support the institutions mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities (What you contribute)
Advanced Conflict of Interest (COI) Management:
Lead the development and implementation of advanced COI management strategies ensuring compliance with evolving federal regulations and institutional policies.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop proposed mitigation plans for high-risk activities escalating issues to senior leadership as necessary.
Oversee the integration of COI management systems with other institutional compliance systems to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
Legal Agreement Analysis and Reporting:
Develop and maintain a robust framework for the analysis of complex legal agreements ensuring accurate classification and reporting of in-kind support.
Collaborate with legal and research teams to interpret and apply evolving federal reporting criteria providing expert guidance on compliance requirements.
Lead the preparation and submission of detailed compliance reports to sponsors ensuring all legal and regulatory obligations are met.
CITI Certification Compliance Oversight:
Design and implement a comprehensive training and certification program for new and existing JAX Investigators ensuring ongoing compliance with CITI COI certification requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the certification program making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for certification-related training and submission inquiries providing expert guidance and support to Investigators and other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Training:
Develop and deliver advanced training programs for Sponsored Research Administration (SRA) staff Investigators and other stakeholders focusing on disclosure submission complex compliance issues and best practices.
Lead cross-functional teams to address compliance challenges fostering a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.
Attend and engage in compliance and policy forums related to research compliance to remain current on best practice trends.
Regulatory Monitoring and Process Improvement:
Establish a proactive regulatory monitoring system to stay ahead of changes in federal COI and research compliance regulations.
Lead cross-departmental initiatives to review and enhance JAXs compliance processes ensuring they remain aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of compliance processes and drive continuous improvement.
Comprehensive Compliance Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and submission of complex compliance reports to sponsors ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Develop and maintain a centralized compliance reporting system providing real-time access to compliance data for senior leadership.
Lead efforts to automate compliance reporting processes leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burden.
Other duties as Assigned:
Take on additional responsibilities as needed demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the institutions mission and goals.
Participate in special projects and initiatives providing expert compliance guidance and support.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (What youre good at)
Bachelors degree 10-15 years of prior related experience
Experience interpreting sponsor requirements and implementing internal process changes to meet regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated familiarity and experience with PHS NIH DOD and NSF compliance requirements as well as those of other federal agencies and voluntary health organizations.
Prior experience using Grants Management Systems (e.g. InfoEd Cayuse Huron) and federal electronic research administration systems (e.g. eRA Commons ) preferred.
Ability to interpret understand and apply internal policy and compliance requirements as it relates to the duties of this role.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Pay Range: $40.53 - $67.85 Based on total years of related experience
