Job Description:
Effective July 1 2025 the hiring rate will be $23.473/hour plus a $3/hour facility differential for hours worked.

DUTIES:
Install alter repair and maintain pipe systems above below and within structures (walls floors ceilings etc.).
Work with plumbing fixtures such as sinks toilets showers tubs water heaters faucets and kitchen/laundry equipment.
Maintain and repair components like traps vents drains siphons pumps valves and shock arrestors.
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to identify and correct deficiencies.
Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications; sketch plumbing layouts.
Estimate time materials and cost for work orders; requisition necessary supplies.
Install and maintain fire protection sprinkler systems sewage systems and water treatment facilities.
Repair and adjust mechanical equipment including water/steam pumps compressors and fuel storage systems.
Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
Train and guide helpers and apprentices in plumbing techniques and safety procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Training and experience in the plumbing trade.
Other: Must be willing to be on call 4-5 times throughout the year. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.
