Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an experienced Project Engineer (Release Train Engineer-RTE) with software background to work as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).

In this role you will facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders escalate impediments help manage risk and drive relentless improvement.

This position is based at our Aguadilla PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Facilitate ART events including Program Increment (PI) Planning Scrum of Scrums ART sync and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
  • Ensure alignment of the ART with the overall product strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Product Management Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure the ART has a clear and prioritized program backlog.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators.
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics where necessary.
  • Coach leaders teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies and escalate and track impediments.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the facilitation of Inspect & Adapt workshops and the collection and analysis of metrics.
  • Ensure the ART is following the agreed-upon processes and practices.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and transparency within the ART and across the organization.

Qualifications YOU must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Experience in managing programs or parts of a program including successfully managing small groups of engineers under technical guidance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven track record as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar Agile leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in facilitating coaching and mentoring Agile teams.
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or RTE certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of additional Agile frameworks such as Kanban SAFe or other scaled Agile methodologies.
