POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the bath aide is to assist residents with bathing personal hygiene dressing and other activities of daily living as outlined by resident care plans and doctors orders while ensuring their comfort safety and dignity.
The job of the bath aide is to assist individuals with their daily personal hygiene routines particularly bathing and grooming. They provide support and assistance to individuals who may have difficulty performing these tasks on their own. Their primary responsibility is to help maintain the physical and emotional well-being of their residents by ensuring they are clean comfortable and confident in their personal hygiene.

Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Successful applicant(s) will undergo an abuse and neglect screening. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.

Bath Aide Basic Objectives and Responsibilities:
- Bathe residents in accordance with a bathing list or as needed.
- Administer topical treatments as outlined by a licensed health care provider or by a residents care plan.
- Work as a team member and assist one another as needed which includes but is not limited to the following:
- Provide residents with personal cares and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor.
- Assist with taking residents to and from the dining room beauty shop and activities as needed.
- Answer resident call lights as time allows.
- Consistently maintain appropriate personal appearance and hygiene standards.
- Ensure that residents rights to fair treatment self-determination individuality privacy and property rights are followed.
- Assist in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth personal interest and positive emphasis on a clean environment throughout the home.
- Maintain a kind and courteous manner to residents coworkers and guests.
- Report all incidents or accidents regardless of how minor to the charge nurse as soon as possible.
- Comply with company policy standards and licensing regulations.
- Maintain proper charting records as required.
- Observe and report any changes in a residents condition to the charge nurse.
Bath Aide Requirements:
- Experience as Certified Nursing Assistant/bath aide preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds either alone or as part of a 2 person assist.
- Able to pivot while bearing the weight of the resident.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of proper hygiene and safety practices
- Must possess or be able to obtain a South Dakota Certified Nurse Aide certification within 4 months of hire.
