You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Town of Eries Utilities Department is seeking a dependable skilled and motivated Distribution & Collection (D&C) Maintenance Technician to join our hardworking team.
In this vital role youll help maintain and improve the critical infrastructure that keeps our townsdistribution system wastewater collection system right of ways and other Town infrastructureoperating safely and efficiently. Whether its inspecting lift stations or repairing a broken water main your work will make a meaningful difference and every day will offer something new.

This position is 100% in-person and not eligible for remote work
Work Hours: Monday Friday 7:00AM 3:30PM
Employee must be able to work on-call schedule as assigned and outside of normal working hours.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
One (1) year of laboring heavy maintenance equipment operations or other experience preferred
Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving recordrequired
Colorado Commercial Drivers License Class B required within one (1) year.
Confined Space Certification within one (1) year.
D&C Maintenance Technician II
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Two (2) years of related work experience in the utility field required
Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving recordrequired
Colorado Commercial Drivers License Class B required w/ tanker endorsement required.
Confined space certification required
Flagger certification required
-Level I certification in both Collection and Distribution from the Colorado Operator Certification Program Office
-Level II certification in either Collection or Distribution from the Colorado Operator Certification Program Office.
Stormwater (PACE) Certificate or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of: use or learn to use hand tools and heavy equipment such as backhoe dump truck skid steer and other mobile machinery. Knowledge of basic math skills including how to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.

Ability to complete basic math such as how to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to read maps and drawings. Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems involving variables in any standardized situation.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction short correspondence and memos and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with employees and the public. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and/or small group situation to customers clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to supervise and direct subordinates in the absence of division supervisor.
Environmental Factors:
Work is frequently performed in an inside standard office environment as well as an outside setting. Frequent to constant use of a personal computer. Work may involve competing demands performing multiple tasks and working to deadlines. Tasks frequently require outside work with moderate to high noise levels and local travel (rarely requiring out of town travel). Tasks frequently include walking on uneven surfaces and exposure to chemicals gases fumes dust vibrations use of light to heavy equipment operations and working in traffic; occasionally working with heights and extreme temperatures.
Physical Factors:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is constantly grasping fingering and handling items as well as talking and hearing. Employee will frequently be sitting standing reaching or walking for extended periods of time use of near visual acuity and constantly moving objects weighing over 10 pounds frequently over 50 pounds and occasionally over to 100 pounds. Occasionally tasks require stooping kneeling squatting climbing balancing use of far visual acuity color discrimination and peripheral vision. Employee may rarely have tasks requiring running or use of depth perception.
