Location: Middletown NY
Pay Rate: $19/hr.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (40hrs)


Job Requirements:

As a Benefit Verification and Rate Specialist you must be able to work independently prioritize tasks and stay organized. You must have excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Primary Functions:

  • Reviews the Insurance Outlook Mailbox and enters new or updated client benefit information received from the Behavioral Health program staff and enters it into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Responds to client benefit and/or billing inquiries from Behavioral Health program staff as it is received in the Insurance Outlook Mailbox.
  • Regularly retrieves and reviews eligibility verification reports and enters any changes into the EHR prior to billing Behavioral Health services.
  • Maintains rate and weight schedules and verifies rates are accurately entered into the EHR.
  • Assists with building and updating rate setups within EHR software to ensure compliant billing.
  • Prepares regular and management requested reports regarding client benefit eligibility weight and rate verification within the EHR system etc.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in 3rd party eligibility verification on an Electronic Health Record system and comprehensive working knowledge of third party insurance processes insurance payer reimbursement authorizations and collection practices
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 CPT and HCPCS codes
  • Maintenance of all documentation and keeping all filing up to date.
  • Intermediate knowledge and computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required
