Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Permanent Full Time)
Vancouver BC
Expected Salary: $19.13 to $30.60 hourly.
Additionally an extensive compensation package is provided.

In Canada Babcock is now well established as a provider of services to the Aviation sector. Babcock is proud to work alongside the Government of Manitoba to deliver their wildfire suppression services as well as key components of their critical fixed-wing air ambulance services. Babcock is now in the process of establishing its a Rotary Wing division. Babcock will be providing engineering support to Ascent Helicopters as they deliver the vital life-saving aero-medical operations to the Government of British Columbia.

Babcock is looking to expand its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to include AW169 maintenance are currently recruiting for a Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) to be based in Parksville and Vanvouver British Columbia. All AMEs will be responsible to Crew Chief for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks assigned to them.
In this role you will:
- Work efficiently alone and as part of a team to conduct scheduled maintenance tasks under the guidance of a licensed AME.
- Maintain adjust modify test diagnose and repair AW169 aircraft mechanical systems under the guidance of a licensed AME.
- Monitor and complete task cards and work cards in CAMP.
- Work with specialized aviation and power tools computers and diagnostic equipment.
- Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for tasks/jobs.
- Maintain a clean and productive work area.
- Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior (excluding medical biohazards).
- Read understand and adhere to the Safety & Health Policy Statement Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual Company Policies and Procedures and the MPM.
- Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard incident or accident.
- Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
- Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate:
- Enrolment in an accredited AME apprentice program or graduate of Transport Canada accredited AME diploma program
- Has experience working on a rotary-wing asset ideally on Leonardo Helicopters AW-Family aircraft particularly the AW169.
- Have demonstrated experience working on CAMP Winair or other similar maintenance programs.
- Have good organizational skills.
- Is proficient in English written and spoken.
- Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
- Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
- Have physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
- The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
- Is comfortable working at heights.
- Be willing and able to travel for 2 weeks at a time.
- Is eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Have the right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
- Holds a valid drivers license.
