Laborer

MasTec Civil is currently hiring laborers to join our team.

The Laborer performs a variety of tasks under close supervision of higher-level employees. These tasks may include assisting with extra workload covering absences and vacations and supplementing crews to meet unusual changes in the production area or in the weather.

• Control traffic passing near in or around work zones.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment movement or adjustment of machinery equipment or materials.
• Load unload or identify building materials or tools distributing them to the appropriate locations according to project plans or specifications.
• Measure mark or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
• Dig ditches or trenches backfill excavations or compact and level earth to grade specifications using a variety of power and hand tools.
• Tend pumps compressors or generators to provide power for tools machinery or equipment or to heat or move materials such as dirt gravel and asphalt.
• Cleans tools equipment and work areas.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to listen understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work in a variety of roles.
• The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the companys safety policies and procedures as described in the companys safety manual.
• Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Experience and Training: Three to six months related experience in field construction.
