Job Description: As a Healthcare Referral Coordinator you will play a crucial role in navigating the healthcare referral process for our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to support patients in getting their individual healthcare needs met by processing referrals based on referral information obtained and medical staff-driven algorithms. Additionally you will act as a liaison between referral sources patients and medical staff to ensure a seamless referral process. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Processing referrals based on referral information obtained and medical staff-driven algorithms.
- Navigating department-specific referral algorithms to ensure patients receive the right service at the right time.
- Acting as a liaison between referral sources patients and medical staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Initiating authorization requests in accordance with prior authorization requirements and other applicable laws/regulations.
- Collecting data on all referral processes and analyzing it with leadership to identify areas for improvement in patient experience access and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in healthcare referral coordination or a related role.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and the insurance environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
