The QA Portfolio Specialist is responsible for the oversight and coordination of testing and quality engineering activities within the banking domain. Responsibilities include automation testing and planning. The QA Portfolio Specialist will also support with testing strategy design execution defect management reporting are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you In this role you will:
Day-to-day coordination of QA works including overseeing and carrying out following type of testing: Functional Testing (including automation) Integration Testing Regression Testing Accessibility Testing User Acceptance Testing Production Acceptance Testing and other types of testing as required.
Delivering the automation results for the dedicated channel based on the strategic directives set forth by leadership team
Recommending and implementing various process or framework enhancements by collaborating with QA community within the bank.
Manage and lead testing activities for multiple large-scale enterprise-wide programs/projects that are executed in Agile methodology
Assess the risks associated with the development aspects of each solution/project and define approach for manual versus automation testing and institute change within the team
Risk Management document testing risks and provide mitigation and contingency plans from testing standpoint.
Collect strategic technical and operational test metrics. Analyze current defects test execution trends and extrapolate data for predictive analysis
Work with people of varied level within QA and/or outside of QA Team including Business/Product Engineering PMO Release Management Design etc. to meet key objectives and advocate for quality
Responsible for teams adherence to governance and processes timely management of any issue or escalation and facilitates overall escalation processes.
Manage and review documentation and creating of testing artifacts (e.g. test strategies plans estimates test cases metrics/dashboard defects log/report signoffs) to ensure artifacts adhere to prescribed standards and audit requirements
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:
University or College Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering
8 years of solid experience working within SDLC/TDLC
8 years of solid testing experience within the capacity of Software Quality Assurance
Proficient testing background in the Canadian financial services industry
Experience with mainframe technology.
Competent in/working knowledge with various tools including Defect Management Tools Requirement Management Tools Test Management and Planning Tools Web Content Management tools and concepts Banking systems and their integration
Hands on experience with Test Automation using Selenium Webdriver IO or similar and ability to contribute to automation framework enhancements.
Proficient with API REST/SOAP testing and experience using related tools like Rest Assured etc.
Experience with CI/CD and related tools and techniques; Bitbucket.
Through understanding of agile process.
Demonstrated ability in coordinating an onsite offshore resource model
Change management process awareness.
Ability to work independently as well as part of the larger team
Ability to lead through influence in a face-paced environment and hold others accountable when applicable
Ability to work and collaborate with stakeholders from different departments and organizational levels.
Self-starter shows initiative able to work with minimal supervision
