Job Description

Job Title:StR Lower in Adult Psychiatry
Grade:StR Lower
Location:Inverness Inverness-shire
Working Hours:40 hours per week
Rate:Competitive details to be discussed upon application

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Specialty Trainee (StR) Lower in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Inverness Inverness-shire. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience across both inpatient services and the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) supporting adults with a range of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver psychiatric care under supervision for adult patients in an inpatient setting.
  • Participate in the assessment diagnosis and treatment planning for individuals with conditions such as depression anxiety psychosis and bipolar disorder.
  • Work collaboratively with the CMHT to support continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
  • Support clinical documentation and care planning in line with NHS standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits teaching sessions and service improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with patients families and carers to ensure person-centred care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Enrolled in a recognised psychiatry training programme (StR Lower level)
  • Experience in adult mental health services (inpatient and/or community)
  • Strong communication teamwork and clinical reasoning skills
  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
