Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer that can work individually or help lead a Metrology team in developing metrology methods and processes for precise and repeatable measurements to ensure the accuracy and precision of Raytheon products for commercial and aerospace applications.
What You will Do:
Provide technical support for Metrology engineers as well as calibration technicians in the areas of high precision electrical measurement calibration troubleshooting and repair.
Develop tactical and strategic initiatives to improve measurement capabilities and calibration processes.
Analyze measurement systems and error sources to identify areas for improvement perform root cause on identified areas and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with engineering operations and management to improve test equipment configuration quality repeatability and measurement traceability.
Develop written calibration procedures calibration laboratory methods processes and capabilities
Develop automated calibration procedures using various programing languages for measuring and test equipment.
Create uncertainty analyses for calibration procedures and measurements
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
Experience in technical/engineering in a design manufacturing and/or engineering environment
Experience in the field of Metrology calibrations and/or electronic repair.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with interpretation of electrical schematics and diagrams
Basic understanding of uncertainty analysis and statistical process control
Understanding and application of ISO 17025:2017 and ANSI/NSCL Z540 standards
Familiarity with Fluke MET/CAL software
Knowledge of calibration quality standards
Knowledge of quality and process improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing
