Your role
Are you passionate about numbers processes and strategy In our dynamic deep-tech environment you will take full ownership of building and scaling our finance function - from accounting and controlling to budgeting and cash flow management. Join our innovative team in Berlinand bring your financial expertise to the forefront of technological progress.
Your responsibilities
- Take the lead in expanding and shaping our finance department implementing new and improving existing processes
- Manage our finance and budgeting software (Finway) oversee approval workflows and monitor all incoming and outgoing payments
- Support our fundraising efforts by creating and updating business plans and financial presentations
- Internal Accounting:
- Independently prepare annual budgets reports financial calculations and statistics for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide C-Level with ongoing cash flow monitoring and liquidity forecasts
- Deliver in-depth reports and analyses to support decision-making within the framework of internal controlling
- External Accounting:
- Manage the full financial accounting process in close collaboration with our external tax advisors
- Assist with the timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and support the preparation of annual tax filings and financial reporting
Your profile
- Degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting Controlling Taxation or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in finance and accounting preferably in a start-up environment
- Strong expertise in preparing internal financial analyses and reports (controlling) as well as hands-on experience in day-to-day bookkeeping
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel (ideally including VBA) financial tools like Finway (or similar) and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI is a plus
- Strong hands-on mentality with the ability to independently dive deep into complex financial issues and contribute actively to their resolution
- Analytical mindset strong sense of responsibility excellent communication skills high self-motivation commitment and a strong affinity for numbers

- Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken)

About us
Kipu Quantum is a German startup focused on quantum computing with offices in Karlsruhe and Berlin. We specialize in developing quantum algorithms tailored for specific applications and hardware. Our solutions help various industries including pharmaceuticals chemicals logistics and finance to tackle complex problems using existing quantum hardware. We aim to make practical quantum computing accessible by significantly reducing the time needed to achieve quantum advantage for real-world applications.
In December 2023 Kipu Quantum secured 10.5 million in seed funding led by HV Capital and DTCF (DeepTech & Climate Fonds) with participation from Entrada Ventures Quantonation and First Momentum Ventures. This funding will support the development of our hardware-specific quantum algorithms and accelerate the commercialization of our quantum solutions.
